Remember Matt?

It was back in 2009 that we were following the progress on Matt Jenkins' Mark 7. Both he and Peter Kordic had George May of Racecraft build fairly sophisticated chassis for their 7s to accommodate their V8s.
Peter completed his car some time ago and has competed in Leyburn sprints and the Mt. Coot-tha hillclimb. Matt, while doing some marvellous work on his, got a bit diverted with work on the family home and his other love in the form of an RS2000. However, isn't it amazing how an upcoming Easter in your home state can get the juices flowing again.

Jason Weber has been reporting on the progress of Matt's car which is flying ahead in order to be ready for the 2018 Easter.
Matt is just about to paint his car with a Dupont paint that is their special aircraft paint, they say is heat and chip proof and about 3 times thicker than normal paint, giving the clear coat a great depth to the eye.
Matt has had to make all the door gaps bigger to allow for this extra thick paint.

Matt is very much looking forward to bringing his car to Easter 2018.
Matt and George May have been working hard on this project to get the car ready for easter 2018.
George made up these exhaust headers which are now ceramic coated.
Another good reason to get up to Beaudesert - to check out the finished product.
