Texas thinks it's its own country, especially since Obama got elected.

At a meeting many years ago with the Gov. of Tx and team they were quick to tell me what it meant to be a Great Texan. They observed that Willie Nelson was a great Texan and who could dispute that. The biggest of everything was the going thing. I first went to Tx to inspect the biggest ratite Abattoir but when I got there I saw that my administration block back home in Australia was bigger than their whole damn abattoir. Their pickups were bigger than ours tho.Col

The Texas picture looks typical of what Americans think is the land of the free.
Poor, misguided b*stards.

I think I've mentioned it before but this jogged my memory. Years ago when we had to provide Nagaris and Cobras at a championship MX event at the showgrounds for the hotshots to ride around the perimeter, they each carried giant flags from their home country. There were a number of Americans and those representing the "other" 49 states had the stars and stripes and the Texans had a Texas flag.

Under the Texas Education Code every morning all students must pledge allegiance to the US Flag and the Republic for which it stands and to honor the Texas flag and God. Col

I have many friends in TX and several of whom trace their ancestry back before the Louisiana Purchase and either Mexican war. They call themselves Texicans :)

At an international cattlemen's convention some years ago, a Texan was bragging about the size of his ranch saying, "I can get in my truck and drive all day and not get to the other boundary"

His listeners were apparently impressed as there wasn't a word for a little while. Then an Ozzie who was present quietly said, "Yeah, I had a truck like that once"
